Linear Shift | Arctic Drift

Arctic Drift resolves the Linear Shift form in a palette of cool restraint — bands of blue-grey and white that follow the sphere's curvature in slow, geometric rhythm. Painted on fiberglass using a tape-mask technique, each stripe is laid in over successive passes of color and exposed when the tape is removed, producing edges that are exact and lines that feel inevitable. From a distance the surface appears nearly monolithic, a pale form hovering against the wall; closer, it fractures into the fine directional logic of the painted bands. A clear resin seal gives the finish a glacial luster — smooth, even, without excess — and anchors the tone in something colder than paint alone. In a minimal or neutral interior, Arctic Drift functions as a point of absolute stillness.
