Overview
Each Linear Shift sphere explores the illusion of motion through perfectly measured lines that subtly diverge and converge across its surface. Crafted from fiberglass, every piece is meticulously hand-painted with fine layers of tape masking—each stripe revealed by removing the tape after multiple passes of color. The result is a seamless rhythm of directional lines that interact with light and curvature, creating shifting tones as you move around it.
To protect and enhance the depth of color, the surface is sealed with a glossy resin coating that gives each sphere a glass-like luster. Whether grouped as a series or displayed individually, Linear Shift captures the dialogue between geometry, motion, and light—where structure meets optical illusion.
