Rift Opening

Rift Opening: Orpheus is conceived as a monolithic aperture—an architectural void carved from mass. The elongated form frames negative space with a rugged perimeter that feels excavated rather than assembled. Its surface carries a raw, concrete-like texture, irregular and tactile, as if eroded by time. The interior opening creates tension between solidity and absence, turning the wall into part of the composition. At scale, the piece reads as structural and commanding, yet restrained in palette and material expression. It is less decoration and more intervention—an object that alters spatial perception through weight and proportion.
