Rift Opening

Rift Opening: Obsidian Fissure reads as a breach rather than a mirror. Its eroded perimeter feels torn from a solid mass, as if the wall has fractured to expose another plane beyond it. The reflection intensifies the illusion — not decorative, but spatial.

The sculpted edge is cratered and irregular, evoking volcanic stone or collapsed terrain. In black, the form becomes denser and more architectural. Light traces its ridges while shadow settles into its crevices, amplifying the sense of rupture.

This is not a mirror as ornament. It is a threshold cut into matter.
