Overview
Pigment Fields: Chloris is a vertical relief study in chromatic compression. Verdant and mineral-green strata gather across the surface in layered deposits, as though sedimented under pressure and then exposed through erosion. The work reads as a contained field of green—dense yet atmospheric—where ridges and recessed channels create tonal variation through light rather than pigment alone. Darker registers settle into the valleys, while elevated planes carry lighter, oxidized highlights that shift subtly with ambient illumination. The vertical orientation reinforces a sense of gravitational sorting, heavier tones grounding the lower field as lighter hues rise. Chloris functions as both surface and structure—an architectural plane distilled to the spectrum of green, controlled and materially present.
