Garnet Ombré

Garnet Ombré is a hand-built paper relief: a grid of individually crumpled tiles graduating from deep garnet crimson through dusty rose and blush to near-white. The gradient is physical, not printed — each tile a separate material decision, legible as such at close range. Gold catches only where a fold intercepts the light, so the piece shifts with the room through the day. Paper absorbs rather than reflects, giving the garnet register a matte weight that reads as material rather than pigment. A clear acrylic box frame leaves the relief depth and tile edges visible as part of the composition.
