Drift

Drift | Sahara is a hand-built paper relief in the Drift series — hundreds of layered tiles shifting from cooled ivory through deep amber gold into a saturated burnt orange at the centre register. The tonal transition is the load-bearing element: where amber gives way to warm orange, the shift makes scale legible across a room. Paper absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, giving the colour a matte depth that reads as material rather than pigment. At distance it reads as a field painting; at proximity the tile construction asserts itself. A clear acrylic float frame presents it as an object with visible edges.
