Drift

Drift | Salt is a hand-built paper relief in the Drift series — hundreds of layered tiles holding close to mineral white, from cooled salt at the outer registers to pale warm gray at the centre. With no strong colour shift to carry the eye, the relief itself becomes the load-bearing element. Paper absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, giving the white field a matte complexity painted surfaces cannot reach. At distance it reads as a monochrome field; at proximity the tile construction becomes legible and changes as the light changes through the day. A clear acrylic float frame presents it as an object with visible edges.
