Story
The Lythos Floor Lamp is a sculptural column that scales the hand-formed resin logic of the series to standing height, where the asymmetric twist of the form acquires a spatial authority it cannot achieve on a surface. At this scale the lamp becomes a room object in the manner of a gallery sculpture — something to move around, to see from different angles, with the silhouette changing significantly as the viewer shifts position. Warm directional light emerges from the upper form, illuminating the textured resin surface and casting long shadows downward that reinforce the monolithic character of the piece. The resin FRP construction gives the floor version the structural integrity its height demands while maintaining the organic surface quality that defines the series. No two pieces are identical in their precise curvature, giving the lamp the quality of a studio object rather than a production run.
