Distortion Study

Distortion Study examines surface tension, reflection, and controlled deformation through a single continuous metal plane. Hand-forged stainless steel is shaped into an irregular, almost liquid form—creased, folded, and pulled as if captured mid-movement. The highly reflective surface fractures its surroundings, bending light and environment into abstract distortions that shift with perspective. Neither flat nor fully volumetric, the piece exists as a suspended relief, reading as both industrial and sculptural. It functions as a focal punctuation on a quiet wall, rewarding negative space and deliberate placement rather than visual density.
