Negative Relief is a sculptural mirror built as a layered relief rather than a flat reflective surface, drawn from the stepped geometry of rice terrace fields. A hand-welded metal framework forms the backbone, creating descending planes that recede and overlap with precision. Individually carved mirror segments are set by hand within each tier, following the frame's contours rather than conforming to a single continuous sheet. The surface fractures reflection into quiet spatial distortion that shifts with movement and light. The form reads as excavated rather than added. Offered in two sizes.
