The Gourd Floor Lamp is a vertical composition of stacked, faceted metal discs that taper and swell along a central stem, crowned by a frosted dome that diffuses warm light downward and outward. The plated metal discs catch ambient light across their angled surfaces, producing a shimmering, segmented column that shifts in appearance as viewing angle changes. The frosted dome softens the light source into a broad, even halo — functional illumination delivered through sculptural form. At approximately 51 inches, the lamp holds a room's vertical axis with quiet authority. The proportional relationship between the heavy, reflective stem and the translucent dome creates a deliberate tension between opacity and diffusion.
